Could You Be a Foster Carer?
Fostering is about commitment, empathy, and being ready to grow with the child in your care. We’re looking for people who are open to learning, emotionally available, and willing to stick by a child through the ups and downs.
Fostering is Open to More People Than You Think
You don’t have to be married, own your home, or have parenting experience to become a foster carer. We support single people, couples (of any gender), and families from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles. What matters most is your patience, kindness, and willingness to help a child thrive.

Basic Requirements to Foster
There’s no such thing as a ‘perfect’ foster carer. What matters is your ability to offer stability, care, and a safe environment for a child or young person.
We welcome people from all walks of life. You can foster if:
- You have a spare bedroom and a stable home
- You’re single, married, in a relationship, or living with extended family
- You rent or own your home
- You’re working, self-employed, retired, or at home full time
- You have parenting experience—or none at all
Think You Can’t Foster? Think Again!
- You don’t need to own your home — renters are welcome.
- You can foster if you have your own children.
- You can foster if you work full or part-time (depending on placement type).

Still Unsure If You’re Eligible?
You’ll need to go through some checks, including a DBS and medical, and we’ll work closely with you to make sure fostering is the right step for you. What matters most is your ability to offer safety, care, and connection.
